At BLIXT ARTS LAB, we feel that too often the experiences of arts learners are exploited as part of fundraising. At BLIXT ARTS LAB, we reject the idea that people need art. That's because we approach our work with the strong belief that people ARE art, and all they need is affirmative environments in which they can unleash their amazing imaginations without prohibitions or exploitation! BLIXT ARTS LAB Teaching Artists work with learners of all ages to co-create projects that are meaningful & most importantly, participant driven. Fact: we learn as much if not more from our students as they learn from us.

BLIXT ARTS LAB works alongside Nebraska Public Schools and Community Learning Centers to co-create arts classes, workshops, and camps, which thanks to grants and sponsorships, are offered at no cost to students and their families. Each BLIXT ARTS LAB learning activity culminates in a public sharing of students' original works.

BLIXT ARTS LAB is proud to partner with Nebraska Wesleyan University to mentor students interested in becoming Teaching Artists. Based on their own strengths and interests, NWU Students spend their semester learning from our Teaching Artist team and then putting their own skills to use in classrooms!

BLIXT ARTS LAB frequently works alongside communities and organizations seeking creative enrichment and fulfillment co-created with adult learners. This includes activities intertwined with our performances as well as strength-based experiences built to cultivate a deeper sense of joy, understanding, connection, and belonging.
